fScanX Automator Action

Automator is a powerful utility included in OS X for automating common tasks in a very simple graphical way. (You might want to take a minute or two to read Apple's introduction to Automator.)

Automator works by providing "actions" which you choose from, set their options & chain together. You then save these settings such that they can be accessed several different ways. The fScanX package provides an Automator action, so that you can build Automator workflows which include scanning.

This section provides several examples. They're all simple and proceed in small steps, with plenty of pictures, so there's no reason to hesitate!

(These examples are all done on Mac OS X 10.6 "Snow Leopard".
Automator's user interface is somewhat different in other versions of Mac OS X.)
